Hard reset solved my internet/router connection problem
got my axim x30h a couple days ago and fiddled around trying to get it to connect to my linksys wireless router. as you know, there are about a million combinations... after disabling WEP it did work briefly but after i turned WEP back on nothing happened. the router did not show the axim and the axim did not see the router, no matter what i did (soft resets, deleting the entry on the axim, etc). even stranger was the fact that the axim did see 2 of my neighbour's routers but not my own! figure that out. to make a very long story short, i decided to do a hard reset on the axim, after which it came up asking if i wanted to connect to my router. after entering the hex key everything works fine. anybody have a explanation?
Ugggggg - It must be something in the air. After Months of connecting wireless my Axim X30 High can't seem to see passed my router. Actually,The connection is excellent, and it recognizes my Network. I just can’t get on the Internet or sync. I get the infamous “The page you are looking for cannot be found” message. All my router settings are the same, and I’ve tried a soft reset and soft reset using the Windows Welcome Icon. DARN, I hate having to do a hard reset.
I had the same issue and it was solved by removing the dual DHCP setup on both my Cabled router and Wireless one. Usually if the addresses do not conflict it is OK but I found that the Axim do not connect when two router have DHCP enable. Hope it helps.

I've been trying to connect my schools LAN web with my axim, but it says that my settings are not right. My schools LAN system settings say: "–DHCP –käytössä (automaattinen IP-osoitemääritys)", translates: "-DHCP is used (automatical IP-address verification)"
Will I ever be able to connect, or is it impossible to connect when the router uses DHCP?
Hope you understood what I meant :)
Thanks, JR

Reason: Typo
DHCP / Static IP is irrelevant.
You need to know the IP address of the DHCP server.
In my house I have two routers - FVS318 + WGR614
My FVS318 is 192.168.0.1 and is my DCHP server + router
My WGR614 is 192.168.0.2.
In my internet settings I have the gateway set to 192.168.0.1
That allows me to connect via the wireless port on the WGR614 but get all my settings from the FVS318 which also has my cable plugged into it.
I decided to visit a couple of places in town, local hot spots. My Axim can’t see past their router either. I hard reset, and the results are the same. I called Dell, and they were scratching their heads. They have a supervisor calling me back this AM. I don’t know where Dell gets these techs, but it takes an hour on the phone to get them to understand what should take 3 minutes. (But I must say, they are extremely polite).
ZOOM, right over my head. It sounds like you know what your talking about. If you don't mind I'd like to pick your brain a bit. I have a Netgear WGT624 wireless router, but my house is wired, so I have my computers hard wired into the router. The computers work great, no problems. So far I have been able to get my Axim connected one time. I enabled the wireless when it was still in the charging cradle. For some reason when I removed it from the cradle I was still able to connect with the router. The battery started going down and it automatically shut down the wi fi and I haven't been able to connect since. My routers IP address is 192.168.0.2 The DHCP server is 192.168.0.1 The Default Gateway is also 192.168.0.1 The Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0 When my Axim is in the cradle the IP address assigned looks like this 0.0.0.0, 192.168.55.101 When I remove it from the cradle it just reads 0.0.0.0 Any help would be extremely appreciated.

I received my axim x30 yesterday and battled with my netgear router 624 to, finally got to work by disabling odyssey and make sure that in your router settings u allow another machines to connect to the router am at work at the mo when I get hme il explain a bit more what I did.
My axim works perfectly now and am using wep, do not broadcast my ssid and my firewall is up on the router.
I don’t know how much help this will be, but if you a visit a local hotspot, you will be able to isolate the problem, i.e., your router settings. In my case Dell determined my Net Card was bad, so another Axim is on its way. I found this to be a good site:

Thanks for helping. I disabled Odyssey, turned my Axim off, turned it on, enabled wireless, but still no connection. I turned off the "access control" function of the router, but still no connection. Any ideas? Thanks

Hey Pete155
This is what I did to connect my axim x30 to my netgear624.
I used the the dells wan program,
1)I first allowed my router to boardcast ssid.
2)Made sure my netgear allows connections from other machines
3)disabled odyssey prog.
4)The next stage is to make sure power save mode is off if u cant switch it off, this happened to me I used a lil prog I downloaded from here which swithed it off. (forgot where from some1 here may knw)
5)Run thru the dell wan prog enter your network(ssid) and any wep keys and mine connected fine.
I hope this works for u, it should do beacause we have the same setup.
