New Axim turns on dim, won't light up
My new Axim 30 high turns on easily, but fifty percent of the time the screen is too dim to read easily, and won't get bright with tapping on it. I have to turn it on five or ten times to get a bright screen I can read. The pressure I put on the power button, light or firm, doesn't make any difference. Does anyone else have that problem? Around fifty percent of the time, it works great.

Press and hold down the power button until you see the screen light up again.

It is more a matter of timing than pressure. If you will give it a light and quick press when turning it off, then a quick press will bring it back on fully.
If you press and hold it too long when turning it off, you will see ( look closely) that the screen just went dim and will eventually time out to off. If you do that then a longer press is required to bring it back to full on.
