Question SD card won't sit ?!?!

Just tried to insert my Lexar 256mb SD card into my Axim, but it won't insert all the way (i.e. there is no "click"). I tried the card that came with the Dell and it inserts and removes fine. Why can't I get this silly thing to insert all the way

Since you have both the blank and the SD card... I'd compare them carefully and look for differences between them.

If you have either a different SD card to try, or a different device to try the Lexar in, try that too.

ROFL! Klaatu...

Thanks for that. This stupid thing had me so frustrated :bang: I needed a laugh.

Anyways, I went to Staples and showed it to the tech guy. Get this: The 256 Lexar I bought just will not fully insert into the Axim. He took another 256mb Lexar, same result. Tried a 512mb Lexar, no workz0rs!!!!

Finally, I asked to try a SanDisk 256mb. Gee...it works

So I returned the Lexar, and bought myself the SanDisk. Now I'm hoping that all I've read about the incompatibilities between Axims and SandDisk cards are untrue or don't apply to me (afterall, it's the Lexar cards that won't work with my unit )

I'll post any new developments.

As an aside, this actually saved me some money. I paid $85 CDN for the 256 Lexar, but the SanDisk were on sale for $60 apiece, so I ended up buying 2 of them (the 512 was $180) and a card reader :approve:

added: btw, I had the guy try to insert the Lexar into an Ipaq, and it worked no problem. Weird....
