I've read a number people are having problems with their X30-Hi, how the unit does not start-up. My issue is the unit does start-up but freezes on the main screen. The touchscreen is unresponsive but the buttons do work. I would have to soft-reset over a dozen times and wait before I get any response from the touchscreen. Anyone experiencing the same thing or am I the only one? This behaviour happens when I turn it on the next day or even after a few hours.

Yes, I have the same problem. When I turn the unit on, the screen is unresponsive to the stylus, but the buttons work. It does not happen every time I turn it on, but when it does, it's very frustrating. I've noticed that when I squeeze the sides of the unit for a while it works again. Other than that little trick, I don't know what to do.

I have the same exact problem as well. The unit turns on and then the screen freezes, the buttons work.
I contacted DELL and I have to send the unit in. Looking at the posts here this seems to be a larger problem.Let's see what they'll do. Honestly I wondering if this strange card you have to use with the screen protectors has anything to do with this. How do know know how much pressure to the screen is too much? I think I will avoid using that thing in future, bubbles or no bubbles.
Hi all.
I just experienced the same problems. VERY FRUSTRATING. In fact it happened several times already. It seems like there's something pressing your screen, thus the screen freezes. The trick that I tried is use my thumb to press (not too hard) ANY WHERE on the screen. At least it works several times already, including this time. :p
Both of you have you added a screen protector? If yes, it is installed with maybe something under which cause the screen to be unresponsive.
I had this happen when the screen protector was too big, and I tucked it under the rim, once I cut the screen protector to fit just on the screen it stopped happening. Hope that helps!
I have this same problem with my X30 high I do have a screen protector on it. I contacted Dell and they will send me a new unit. I will in the meantime take the screen protector off to see if this fixes the problem.
