New X30 SOOO Slow Suddenly

Got my new Axim X30 624mhz last week.

Setup msn, and my email accounts on outlook and in the last day or so the thing slows to a crawl. Is this normal?

To top that off, the email doesn't seem to download either using IMAP, it just stalls on disconnecting.

Really disappointed so far.

Oh also the battery is horrible...maybe lasts 1.5 hours? Yikes!

Yep, the battery is pretty weak... but there are some things that you can do to make your battery last longer:

1. Set Processor speed to "Auto" or "Power Save".
2. Turn down Scren Brightness.
3. Limit use of WiFi and BT.

As for your X30 slowing down... have you installed any new programs that might be causing conflicts or slowing down your internet connections?

Have you set up WiFi properly and can you access the net through your Axim?

i would try a soft reset and if this doesnt work, you might want to do a hard reset after you back everything up. My x30 will start running super slow every few days and all it takes is a soft reset. If none of those work call dell for a replacement.

About your battery life, if you are running Wireless with Power managment off then that is about the only amount of life you will get our of the battery. When i switch it on i will get about 4 hours using wifi.JDH

I was going to say that... you can also try to do a hard reset but so not clear the data. Doing this helps sometimes

Also you Switcher Bar to close any unused programs. The "X" button only minimizes the program. It doesn't close it.

Open programs running in the backgound can seriously slow down your Axim. Make sure to close them or use a Soft Reset, Switcher Bar or and other good Task Manager to close them for you.

When mine starts running slow even when i exit all programs using Switcherbar it will still run slow. Dont know if there are hideen files in RAM or what but a soft reset always doess the trick.

. . . and, use a program such as MemMaid or Pocket Mechanic to clear out IE cache & other unnecessary files. Both are great apps, MemMaid provides more functionality. SKTools is great as well, but is not as user friendly . . .

OK here is the deal i had this happen too... you know that your axim has 64 mb ram. well your axim uses that ram like a hard drive and like ram on a normal computer. so you really only have 32mb for storage of files (and emails r one of them) and 32mb for running programs (loading games and what not). so after you look at it that way after any games, or programs you added you have used alot of storage space, and then throw in all the extra emails you r using alot. somethings that help me

if you used pocket ie go to options and delete the files
go to settings->memorey-> the sceond tab hit close all.

if i help your welcome
but if i confuesed you verry sorry

If you want a stronger battery you can always get the 1800 mAh battery.
