Alarm/Reminder problems

Just got my X30. I replaced a Toshiba running WM2003 (1st Edition) due to the problem of alarms not sounding. I've been told that this issue seems to be fixed in WM2003 SE, but the very first alarm that I set on my X30 failed to go off!

This is my 4th Pocket PC - I've been using Palms or Palm-size PCs or Pocket PCs for over 10 years now so I'm pretty much a power user. All the sounds and notifications settings were correct and the volume was set to max, yet when I turned the PPC on, there was the reminder, displayed on the screen, and it should have gone off 20 minutes ago.

I tried again, doing everyhting I could think of, but nothing worked. This morning, I opened up the volume and it was set to zero?! So I set tit to max and tried a test alarm - it worked.

So now my question is, what caused the alarm to be set down to zero? Hopefully this isn't a known issue - if it is, I'll be returning this thing.

HELP!

Hmm

My sound is up and I get no reminders ever on anything. I set notification to display to screen, sound setting on notification to alarm2, flash light for 10 minutes, updated the ROM, updated the OS, reset to ground zero and started again and I'll get maybe one alarm and then nothing. I'm trying something other than Outlook next but this cannot replace my ancient PalmVx until it reminds me of appointments. I'd love to hear what people say the answer is, if and when you ever get your problem resolved.
