i have an axim x30 and i have tried two types of sd cards in it - 128mb lexar card and an aria 512 mb - neither of these will register on the axim i know the cards are fine as they can both be read by a card reader! can anyone help?

did you try soft-resetting your axim and formatting the SD cards?

How old is the X30? Is it under warranty? If so, time to go online with Dell Customer Service and request a replacement.

If you've used the soft reset and it doesn't show...then there you go.

However...just in case...try downloading Total Commander and seeing if the SD card can be seen in that fasion.

In fact, let me go one step more basic...and please don't be insulted.

Go to:

START->PROGRAMS->FILE EXPLORER->STORAGE CARD

Is it there?

I don't want to insult you, but the PPC lacks an "automatic pop-up window" as exists with Windows XP.

It's always better to ask the dumb question and make sure rather than have someone ask for a replacement Axim for no reason.
