Axim x30 "mid" and 3com 3CRWE454G72 access point problem
Hi all,
I just bought a second-hand x30. the previous owner said wifi worked without problem. however, when i tried to surf the internet with PIE, i just got "page not found" error. x30 seems to connect with the network, i can ping the access point but still cannot connect to internet. here's my configuration:
ADSL modem D-Link DSl-302G
Access point 3Com 3CRWE454G72 (not a router, just an AP)
PDA Axim x30 "mid"
Connection was successful after I followed ike's wifi guide, but there's still no internet :rolling:. my flatmate's ipaq r3417 works fine though. I'm considering to buy netgear wifi router DG834G but i'm not sure. is this a prob with the access point or my x30? Sorry for my english, it's not my 1st language. Any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance!

Did you disable power management (under Tools in the WLAN utility)? That's the most common cause of the 'page not found' error on the X30.

Yup, I have disabled power management. It seems as if the problem is caused by the access point, but I'm not sure cos I havent found other users with the same hardwares. My friend's rx3417 starts to work with the AP after he ping it. However, he can connect to d-link dsl-604t wifi router and surf without any glitches. Maybe this can be the clue?

If the AP has a setting for preamble, changing it from it's current setting.

This AP has limited settings. I cannot find "preamble" settings, but I found a "nitro mode". Disabled this "nitro mode", but still no success. BTW, I've tried connecting to my friends' wifi, since they dont have any security setting, I just came in and voila I could chat with my friends using agile messenger. But when I tried to surf the internet, I got a message box telling me to configure proxy. I guess it was because of their router's firewall. Back at home, internet via PC using bluetooth works fine, but still no luck surfing using wifi. Must be the AP's fault, I guess

Hello all,
I solved the problem today. Here's how:
I took note of the DHCP IP address pool in my DSL-302G (it's actually a router, not just a modem), then I set the IP address of my AP to a static address outside of that pool. I also upgrade the modem's firmware, though this might not help at all as related to my issue. Now the only problem left is that the AP keeps dropping connections.... time to get a new one.... eyeing on belkin all-in-one right now. Thanks everybody esp ike for your help!
Cheers!
