Black line across the LCD screen

Hi,

I am new to this board. My girlfriend's Dad just bought me an Axim A30. After only using it for a few days, a black line that runs horizontally across the middle of the screen is appearing and won't go away. Does anyone know how to get rid of this?

Also, this Axim was purchased for me on Ebay. I tried to call Dell and since the mailing address does not match with mine, they refuse to service me. What do I need to do to get technical support even when an item is purchased on Ebay?

You need to contact the seller and have them do a change of address.

It's most likely a hardware problem and I doubt that there is an easy solution.

Too bad you had to get something like this with your Axim. Good luck in trying to get this resolve.

Is this normal? I searched through the forum and I found someone that sounded like they had the same problem, but someone mentioned that it enventually goes away, but it should not happen right when you first get it.
Hopefully I will be able to get the seller to change the address and contact info over to me without any issues. I don't know why it matters anyway since it still is under warranty.

Well if they refuse to transfer the warranty then you can tell ur gf's dad to do a chargeback to the seller since they provided you a defective product whichi i strongly doubt is what ur gf's dad paid for :)

you may want to try to run a screensaver for an hour, but it seems the screen may be going. Get the tech address changed asap.
