I'm new to the forum, my first post. :) I'm having a problem with birthday's and anniversaries from my contacts list. All birthday's and anniversaries show up twice in my calendar at the top of the screen!
For Example:
Joe Blow's Birthday (24)
Joe Blow's Birthday (24)
Luke Skywalker's Anniversary (2)
Luke Skywalker's Anniversary (2)
Sometimes this takes up 3/4 of the screen since I have several events on the same day. I also then get several reminders for the same event. Since I have synced with my computer, it also shows up on outlook calendar twice per item.
I had the same issue when I resync with a different partnership. When it asked you about the duplicates you should have answered no. To delete them you can delete the partnership again and resync. When it show the message telling you that duplicate entry have been found and if you would like to keep them say no. The birthday and anniversary entries from the PPC will be replaced by the one on the PC so no duplicate.

I had that problem once and found that I had some birthdays and anniversaries set up as recurring annual events and also had the dates as part of the contact information.
I needed to go in and delete the duplicates manually in Outlook, then re-sync.
By default if you reset the partnership it found the duplicated evne on th ePC and warn you about it. You will have then one opportunity to delete the duplicate. I just did this yesterday and it works for me.

Ok great, then it sounds like it should work. I'll try that right away, but first, how do I reset the partnership? :)

I looked in the help menu and found out how to delete a partnership. I deleted it and then connected my PPC and followed the on screen instructions to establish a new partnership. It did find a few complete contacts that had duplicate entries in outlook on my computer and asked me if I wanted to delete all duplicates. I clicked on "yes" delete all duplicates. But it did not delete the duplicate birthdays and anniversaries entries. They are all still there on both my PPC and my computer just as before. It never asked me about these duplicates, just the few complete contacts it found that were duplicated.
Something I just noticed, I don’t know if this is important or not, but for each set of duplicates, one will always have the alarm symbol and what appears to be the recurring symbol beside it while the other will only have the recurring symbol. Do you think the reason why these duplicates are not being found is because it thinks they are different entries, one having an alarm set? I know that I never set or did not set alarms for these events, I just entered birthday and anniversary dates in my contacts. What is the default? What symbols beside a birthday do other people see in their calendar when they tap on the event?

That's the problem I was talking about in my earlier post, somehow Outlook creates duplicates entries, one as the normal with just the recurring symbol, and the other with the recurring symbol and the alarm symbol, these look like all day events, rather than special events..
I actually deleted all the birthdays and anniversaries with the alarm symbol, I don't want the PDA waking me up at midnight to tell me it's someone's birthday.

I guess that's my situation then. How did you delete the duplicates? Did u actually have to go into outlook and click on every single day and then delete the ones you didn't want? That would take a long time. Is there and easier way to do it?
On a side note, when the alarm goes off for a birthday and the PPC is off the power light flashes. This has drained my battery before. Also, when I get the flashing power light and turn the unit on and tap on dismiss the event, the flashing power light does not stop. The only way to stop the flashing light is that I always have to go to settings, sounds and notifications, notifications tab, then deselect the play sound check, and that stops the flashing light. It's weird, why would the play sound check have anything to do with the flashing light, but it's the only way I can stop it. You would think that tapping on dismiss event would cancel the flashing light. I don't want to leave it off because I want to be notified of other alarms and events but that has drained my battery several times. Any suggestions?

In Outlook Calendar, choose the display for Recurring Appointments or Annual Events, then click on the icon for alarm and those with the reminder set should be grouped together, you can then highlight them and delete as a group.
Sorry it didn't work for you but it did for me. I had duplicated entries but I guess in my case it was one from Outlook PC and the other from the PPC. When I click yes to delete the duplicates I only had one left.

No worries, It's all good. :) I'm still learning and at least now I know how to delete and establish a new partnership.
