I have an X30H.
I installed a remote control program (Total Remote).
I trained my Axim to be my Hitachi TV remote controller.
Well, it learned well, but when I tried the newly learned infrared code to the TV, it doesn't work.
So I tried the built in code, it also didn't work.
Maybe I have a broken infrared.
Any comments?

try a soft reset.

try it again within about 2 feet from the tv. if it works keep moving back untill you find the range of your device. i couldnt make mine work reliably from very far away as a remote control

Thank's for the tip.
It still didn't work for me though. Even within 30 cms.

Anyway I decided, if the Axim's infrared has that short range, I might just buy a universal remote.

i would although a few have reported better luck. i imagine it depends on your tv and lighting conditions. there is also some variation based on what program you use on your axim from what i have read

Also try it on other devices,I programed mine for several devices ,Dvds,and Tvs at home and at work, all worked perfectly except for one of my Tv's at home , it learned from the main remote but I could never get it to work on that model...

axiams have excellant infrared range mine went up to about 18 to 20 feet
using remotes sending files to friends

i think it is effected by the software and the other device. i have been able to do small file transfers with a cell phone and a toshiba laptop up to maybe 3 feet at most in reasonably dark condidtions but never anymore, odd the different results though
