Hmm Command syntax option error. Type Command /? for Help.

I've gotten an new PC at the office and now I get the following error after reinstalling my active sync 3.8

Command Syntax Option Error. Type Command/? for Help.

I am running Office 2003 Professional now. I guessing that is the problem. Site for Office says I need to remove the space in the help command file, but I don't know where to look to fix. Can someone tell me what to try?

NOTE: I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Office and ActiveSync several times. That does not fix the issue. PC recognizes the hardware, just not the active sync.

Hi, This error that you are receiving is with the ActiveSync? If is not, try a small step, have the Winows XP CD ready, put it on the cdrom drive and run the following command, by cliking on Start and then RUN, and type in the box: sfc /scannow
That small command is going to check your computer for Windows Damaged files and will try to fix those (if the problem lies in the Windows) If its a problem with the ActiveSync, i'll recomend to try with the version that comes with the PDA, instead of the newer one, and then if you are able to sync, then update to the newer and try again.

Have a great day!.

Registry Mechanic Doesn't solve problem

Thanks for the tip with Registry, but I still get the message. The bizarre thing is that I can connect on the second computer (at home) and it works just fine. Versions of office/windows are the same....so is the ActiveSync. Could there be a problem with the dual computer relationship? How would I check that?

I dont think that the Dual thing have something to do, havent seen that so far, maybe is more something with the OS, make a backup of the data and reinstall the OS, Must of the time is a problem with the computer than the PDA or the hardware, it can be viruses or spyware, or just a damaged file on windows.
