axim x3, xd card reader, SDIO?

hi, have got a digital camera with an xD memory card and would like to know if anyone can tell me a way of reading xD cards with my axim x3. does anyone know of memory card adaptors from xD to SD as I've seen similar things for different cards, or possibly there is an SDIO device capable of reading memory cards? existance of the possibility of reading cf or smart media cards would be enough as I've seen adaptors for xD for these types. thanks

reading xD cards on x3

I have an axim x3 and am wondering if anyone knows a way of reading xD memory cards with it? Possibly someone knows of a memory card adaptor for the sd slot or possibly an SDIO device or even an infrared device or something that plugs into the socket on the bottom (not sure what to call that one. Please reply if you have any information, thanks

There's a Smartmedia to XD adapter here:

http://www.card-media.co.uk/resellers/xd+adapter.htm

However, I'm not sure how well that would work with another adapter.

BTW, I've merged your two threads. Welcome to Aximsite! :)

thanks, I saw this section after I posted in the main section and thought this might be a better place for my post. Thanks for the info but have already seen one of these.. I mentioned smart media (and compact flash) cards because of this adaptor incase anyone knew of an adaptor from smart media (or compact flash) to sd so I could use both adaptors to convert from xD to smart media (or compact flash) to sd which is the only memory my x3 can ready. Hope I am being clear, I don't think there is an easily found device for this because I've looked but if on the off chance there is a device and someone knows about it then I would be grateful for that information, many thanks

Try Googling "CF xD". There are several xD to CF converters. Fuji, Sandisk, Olympus... I've been eyeing them, but have not tried them.

again, thanks, but I've already seen those, both xD to CF and xD to SM. What I need is xD to SD (ie so I can read an xD card in an SD socket). Or either a CF to SD converter or SM to SD so I can use the devices you both suggested to achieve either xD to CF to SD or xD to SM to SD.
I have a dell axim x3 which has SDIO / SD card slot, IrDA and the main socket at the bottom which I need to get to talk to an xD card.
