Most battery on ebay are fake, they will over heat and could easily damage your axim. Only a few are real. If you would like to take a chance with your axim then get the battery on ebay.

I bought an extended 1700 mah battery on eBay shortly after buying my X30 and it had less capacity than the stock battery (once I actually used it). I wouldn't waste my money on anything other than what's recommended for my PDA.

Given the expense of your investment I wouldn't settle for anything less than what I know to be designed for the X30 vs. buying something where they simply crammed the cheapest cells they could find in a package resembling the real thing.

I have purchased a total of four aftermarket batteries on ebay, three of them being extended batteries. One of tnem is a Mugen, the rest are other brands.

None of them have given me any trouble. The extended batteries are a huge improvement over the stock battery that Dell provided.

I have had my X30h since it was new. I would have no hesitation recommending one of these batteries. If you're worried about it, i'd say get a Mugen. They were popular a year or so ago.

I think the situation is somewhat mixed. I bought two batteries for my x50V from eBay. One turned out to be of chinese origin - it works fine but the dimensions are slightly larger than the stock battery and it only just fits in the battery slot and is a little difficult to remove. The other one was advertised as a genuine Dell battery. This one turned out to be exactly as advertised and I cant distinguish it from the original one. The Dell one was a little more expensive than the chinese one - but not much more.

So buying batteries from eBay is a little risky. You may or may not end up with a good battery.

I bought one and I'am very pleased with it. As you say, it doesn't cost to much. I'am sure it last longer than the original one but I can't say exactly how much longer. The only "problem" is that this one is two times thicker than the original one. Shortly I'am going to buy one more, for a friend.:)

I also bought one off Ebay for my X3i --- it's a 2000mah battery and is fantastic. I can use the WIFI non-stop for nearly 3 hours streaming music with the screen and backlight off or what feels like forever listening to MP3's off the SD card.

Bottom line -- they're so cheap, pick someone with great feedback on the battery from other Axim users and you can't go wrong...

My original Dell battery sits on the shelf -- I have no use for it since I bought the 2000mah battery.

I must have gotten a bad battery from the very beginning then because the aftermarket battery I bought off ebay didn't last long at all. But a friend who also owns an X30 bought the same aftermarket battery from the same seller and reported good results over the first year of use. In fact both battery's were in the same order and were delivered together. I grabbed the bad one - Lucky me

I guess in the end it's a toss up. You might get one that works as advertised and you might not. Unfortunately I got the latter

Having said that, I've been looking for a good deal on a high-capacity Mugen brand battery for my X30 because after a year and a half of regular use my stock (thin) battery doesn't hold a charge long at all anymore.

Just got my order from Global Batteries the other day and the 1800 mah battery seems to work very good. That first 1700 mah extended battery I bought over a year ago was crap compared to this one. I guess I really did just get a bad one before.

Global Batteries also had awesome prices on HP inkjet cartridges. I ended up ordering like 6 cartridges because they were only $11 each (Black, 40 ml).

Thanks again for recommending them :approve:

Hi - I bought one and it seems fine although I don't think it lasts any longer then the 1700 mah to be honest. I think I only paid about 1.99 so it was worth the try. In any case, I have a couple of spares now :-)

I bought one 1700mah from Celullar-Link on eBay; http://stores.ebay.ca/Cellular-Link-...QQftidZ2QQtZkm

My battery works fine and last much more longer than my genuine 950mah Dell. I can play Worms World Party with WIFI/BT on without draining my batt. down! Its a big change. I can play music at max.volume for more than 5hour straight.

Have purchased 3 extended batteries for my Dell Axim x50v, my sister as well as my son from Ebay. No problems. Love the much extra power it gives for me to play games, watch videos, listen to music as well as internet browsing using wi-fi.

Hope this helps.
