So I went on eBay and looked for an extended battery. I FOUND ONE!!! Suprisingly enough there are a lot. I found a guy in NJ that was selling 2000 mAH batteried for the Axim X3 series. I got the battery and it works great. Now I can use my Axim non-stop for ten (10) hours with one charge... but I have one issue... my old Rhino case doesn't fit anymore, go figure. I contacted the guy and he doesn't know of any cases that will work.
So I gathered the original leather case and made it fit. Now I can travel.
My questions to you fine people is this... do you know of any special places to get cases to fit the Dell Axim X30 with the bigger battery? Dell obviously new about the extended battery because the USB cradle allows the battery to fit to charge by itself or while in the PDA. I did find that Dell was selling an 1800 mAH battery from their website for $99. I got the 2000 mAH for $20.90, shipping included!
Buy while you can it will save a lot of trouble if you use yours alot.
Thanks every one and God bless,
Johnathan

I'm glad you found the battery ok. I got a Mugen 2000 (?) mAh a few months after I got my Axim x30 and have loved iit since then.
In regards to finding an extended fit case, I've gone to
www.cases.com and navigated to the appropriate page for the Axim x30. I picked up an alumnimum extended fit case from there (I think) when I got my big battery in addition to a regular sized aluminum case when I originally got my Axim. I don't think you can go wrong with them. Be sure to ctrl+f or seek out the "EXTENDED FIT" in the product title. You can also always lurk the Classified forums here to see if any other Aximusers are getting rid of their cases as well.
Lastly, in regards to finding information easily here, if you have not tried already, try searching the forums (or specific x30 forums through advanced search) with the key terms you are interested in. There is another thread regarding extended cases (
http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=141102) started just three weeks ago, so looking around can't hurt (and should get you your information quicker). Otherwise, asking is always good and enjoy your Axim!
