Is there any danger in buying one of the aftermarket batteries on Ebay? My standard is a 950 and I see them as much as 2300 available on Ebay but know they are potentially cheap, knockoff types, any danger in harming my X30?
I have bought a couple of batteries from eBay for my X50 and they have been excellent. In fact, the one I just bought is a 1000mAh one and it seems to have longer life than any of the previous ones I had. Cheap, too ... about 10 bucks. In fact - I've had real good luck with all the vendors on eBay so far - just make sure you pick one with a high feedback rating and you should be good to go.
I havent found ANY battery for my Dell IBM or Compaq that is from a European or US come to that vendor there ALL from China or Hong kong.
If i buy from them i save $30 on an 1800ma battery but have to pay DHL $80 handling and excise charges
The last item i bought a small camera lense from New your;the lense(nikon macro) cost $40 shipping included via US post DHL grabed it when it arrived in France added $43 handling & $67 customs excise charges. When i went to the customs office they found $37 charged to a "zero" rated tax plus the 21% VAT on the total which was also well wrong!
Before the WTO and USA started "free" trade i bought in New york without problems or extra charges
I purchased a 1700ma extended off ebay, & I'm happy with it soo far. Don't particular enjoy the "extended" part of it when I'm using it at my desk though.
