Is there a recommended program to quickly shut down running applications? My processor is really slow and seems that the problem is too many programs not closing completely.

Go to Start>settings>system>memory>running programs. You can then shut down any program you don't want running.

programs such as magic button, vbar, wisbar, ilauncher, pocket plus, and many more can be used to close programs when you click on the x instead of merely minimising them
