Have just replaced the main battery but it seems to be very erratic in holding charge. When fully charged but left out of the cradle and switched off, it may last for about 7-8 days or it may run flat within less than 2, in both cases without being used except to check the battery. Does anyone know if there are duff batteries out there or is more likely to be a hardware problem?

did you purchase replacement from reputable dealer? if so contact them as it could be faulty. Li-on batteries do lose charge over a period of time even when not used.
