Converting CF cards for the SD slot

Hi all,

I have a VGA compact flash card I use to do presentations with, and have just bought a lovely new X3 (with an SD slot...)

Can anyone tell me either:

1. Do they know of an adapter that'll plug into my SD slot and allow me to connect my CF card?

or

2. Are there any SD VGA cards out there?

Or am I gonna have to keep using my old PPC......?

Thanks!

Jim

I think the answer to both your questions is no. But I have been wrong before.

There are not currently any adapters on the market to allow CF products to work in an SD slot. It would likely be a very bulky adapter. I haven't heard of any plans for a company to make an adapter of this type, but it is always possible that one might come out.

Also, I have yet to see any SD VGA (or any video output) cards.....just the CF ones. I'm sure that Lifeview or someone will come out with one sometime, as SDIO has caught on very quickly.

I just came across this Margi Presenter-to-go sd video card on the PC Connection website. It should work with the X3.

Wow that description and specs on the webpage look really messed. It starts with Springboard (ala Handspring), continues to Palms, to finish with the software being PPC.

:crooked:

I would call or email before I ordered that one.

"Presenter-to-Go is a Springboard module..."
"This module is designed for Palm PDAs with SecureDigital slot: Palm m125, m130, m500, m505, m515, i705."
"Software Included MARGI Mirror Pocket PC "

Hmm

ikehiker - thanks for that, looks like it might be just what i'm looking for, however, JmE raises some very good points.... may give MARGI a call...

Thanks for the help guys - very much appreciated!

Yeah, the specs page is really weird.....but you can definately tell that the picture is of an SD card.

Margi Presenter To Go (Compact Flash version) was an excellent product, and I expect that the SDIO version would live up to the same standards. :)

The manufacturer might want to update their compatibility page: http://www.margi.com/support/sup_ptg_comp.htm

But they show it plugged into an HP2210 on the previous page. I would imagine it will work fine.
