does anyone know if there is an sd modem available? does x3i comes with an expansion pack so that i can use my old cf modem with it?

i would appreciate some info on this. THANKS!!!

not 2 sure about an SD card modem or a convertor but u cud try a IR 56k modem.

Would beinterested to see if a sd card modem was available though

but i'm sure the x'fer rate would be very slow with the irda connection.

Zoom makes a BlueTooth modem. Perhaps you could use an SDIO BT card and a BT modem. Of course, I have not tried it and I do not know if the setup will work.

searched around and have not found an SDIO modem. are you wanting to dial up from somewhere like a hotel room?

wouldn't be surprised if one becomes available. SDIO cards are popping up now that it has become a standard on new PDAs.

I actually own an IRDA modem and the transfer rate is fine. IRDA maxes out at about 115200 bps, or about double the speed of the maximum dialup rate. You wouldn't notice any difference (save in battery use - my CF modem eats batteries far faster than the IRDA modem did).
