good points, but some of you are still missing the basics.
1. every denomination of China OR
Taiwan SD above 32MB has had issues. Kingston is an exception, see link below. SD memory is made in three countries at this time: Japan, Taiwan, China.
2. the problems with (some) China/Taiwan SD cards: need to format (and lose data); inability to use whole card; other formatting problems; and/or total failure of card.
3. Complaints about Japan SD are essentially non-existent. I can think of only three posts I have seen in the last 8-10 months complaining about Japan SD, and they were all unconfirmed. There have been issues with Japan SD not being recognized in X3 SD slots, but those all turned out to be bad SD slots which did not recognize anything else, either.
4. Sandisk does not make any SD cards in Japan. Some brands make SD only in Japan. Some brands make SD in all three countries.
