If the screen is the same size, I dont see why not? Personally I've never tried it . . .

i dunno... because JAVOedge posts two different models of JAVOScreen screen protectors. One for the X3/X3i and another for the X5. Theres got to be a reason they do that.

check it out

I think it depends on the make of the protector. Some vendors make them the same size so that would not be a problem, whereas others do not. You should verify this before you order.

Personally I just buy whatever is on sale/clearance and cut it to fit the screen. I don't think you should have any problems if you make the proper adjustments in size.

Guys,

If you're looking for a premium screen protector, BoxWave is it.

We've won the largest PDA screen protector shootout to date on PalmOne's official site, Brighthand.

We were the only screen protector company to emerge with highest honors, the A grade.

Beyond this, we've won Handheld Magazine's Top Pick as well.

Try us out - we have a 30 day money back guarantee, and I hang around the forums to help with questions or concerns you might have.

Best wishes guys,

Wing

I back up BoxWave's comment. I bought a 12 pack of the Dell protectors and threw them out after messing with them for 20 min. I went through 4 of them, and it still looked crappy.

I saw the ClearTouch in a review, and decided I had to try it. Hassle free application, no bubbles, can be removed and cleaned under water, great anti-glare, and a nice semi-matted finish!!! Seriously, if you want a good experience with a screen protector, try a boxwave!! They have one specifically tailored for the X3 series!!

I am willing to try the Boxwaves but first listen to my experiences with the Brando protectors. I bought the Brando because of many posts on how great it is, including the review done on the Boxwaves, Brando and PPCTechs. I received it and had the most difficult time putting it on. It even got rough edges during application (can't explain). I gave up after half an hour and threw the screen protector away.

I've used the crappy Dell protectors and they don't look good but at least I can put them on with very little bubbles. Actually, air bubbles disappear after a day on the dell protectors.

Please advise on the Boxwaves.

Used Boxwave on my X3i. Works great. Wipe screen with soft dry cloth first, then use an air-duster to remove lint before applying. X3i and X5 have same screen size. Find a friend with Axim, buy in packs and split the savings.

They're not exactly the same size actually... certainly the brando screen protectors are a slightly different size for the X3 than for the X5 - I believe the X3 screen is slightly smaller.

.
.

Does anyone out there who owns (or has access to) an X5, an X3 and an X30...........have (or has access to, or knows someone who does) a Dial Caliper?

And maybe this size "difference" can be put to rest.

I personally believe Actual Screen Sizes between the models are the same, however I also believe that the plastic bezel that masks out the Viewable Screen Area is probably slightly different.

Add to that, the probable fact that each Screen Protector Manufacturer's actual product is most likely a bit different than their competitor's sizes and add to that, that their own Seperate Model Offerings are likely different as well............

And it probably boils down to a hit-or-miss what will fit what.

Might be a good idea if some protector users would take some precise measurements of their protectors, as well.

This is a Dial Caliper, they are capable of measuring both OD and ID, to thousandths of an inch.

As for advising about the BoxWaves,

We have some easy to follow directions, you should be okay with those.

Cleartouch has beaten out alot of screen protectors - the "mega" review is on Brighthand. We beat everyone by a clear margin, so just keep that in mind while you consider screen protectors.

http://www.brighthand.com/article/Protect_Your_Screen

And we won Handheld Magazine's Top Pick for both Cleartouch and miniSync .

Take care guys,

Wing Lum
