Heads up: 512MB SD card, great price!
I just ordered a Lexar 512MB SD card from 2buystore.com, $104.25! I know I'll need more SD storage with my new X30 toy, which I ordered yesterday.

(I've used a 256MB Lexar card with my X5 for the past year, always worked like a charm.)

Happy storage!

True, but that's a SanDisk card. From everything I've read about SanDisk, I'd rather spend a few dollars more for another brand. Most of the 512MB cards I've seen have been way more than $100, so the Lexar card at 2buystore seems like a good deal.

if anybody has dealt with this vendor and feels they are "ok" it may be worthwhile to post this on the memory bargains group :-)

That is a great price for a 512 lexar. Let us know if (1) the transaction works well; and (2) if it is a made in Japan card.

I wouldn't spend anything on a Sandisk SD card.

Sure, I'll let you know how the transaction goes. But how will I know if it's made in Japan?

I hate to deal with some vendors...That's why I only shop big name ones...Plus New Egg has really good prices...

By the By what is wrong with Sandisk SD cards...Is it just personal prefference or have you had problems with them in the past...Just curious...As Next month I will be getting the X30...

SANDisk = Bad
I have a buddy with 2 SANDisk cards, a 256 CF and a 128 SD. Hasn't had any problems with them up to this point (about 6 months), but just this last week he was trying to move some large files on to both cards and neither of them would allow him to write to them. He then tried smaller files just to see if it was the file size and still no luck. Finally, he tried to format them and he couldn't even do that. It seems the current content is locked on to the cards forever.

Last time I spoke with him he still wasn't able to resolve this issue.

I've bought from 2buystore in the past and never had any problems.

Re SanDisk, I'm going by what I've read here. Some people seem to luck out with them, but lots and lots of users who post here say they've had terrible experiences with SanDisk cards. That's why I prefer to avoid them.

Check out HappyCheescake's SD card site here
http://sdprob.aximsite.com/
As you will see here and in many of the forums here a lot of people have had problems with Sandisk cards. The other thing you will notice on that site is that cards from Japan seem to have less problems than cards manufactured other places.

I just received the Lexar 512 mb card. It says on the back that it was made in the U.S. Should I be weary? Shipped pretty fast too.

I've owned three Sandisk SD cards and 3/3 have failed. I've also benchmarked other Sandisk SD cards and they perform considerably slower than Lexar.

Sandisk - just say no.

2buystore delivered today
Just received my 512MB Lexar card, four days after ordering it -- so no complaints whatsoever about 2buystore.com.

The card is stamped "Made in U.S.A.," however -- we'll see if it performs as well as my 256MB card, which came from Japan.
