Dell AC Adapter ?
I want to buy an extar AC adapter for use at work. I ordered my X30 with the cradle and the travel sync cable but only came with one stinking AC cable. I really don't want to pay Dell $5.50 in shipping for a $20 adapter and have been looking on e-bay. But there is a difference in the P/N for the ones on e-bay. Will these still work? They say they are for X3 and X3i; I figured they must be good for the X30 too.

They are PA-14, as is mine but they indicate P/N 9W077. Mine indicates P/N T2411 (PA-14 Family).

Will these still work?

Does anyone have one for sale?

I think all the Axim adapters are interchangable. Check the bottom of your cube - if it says:

INPUT: 100-240V - 400mA 50-60Hz
OUTPUT: 5.4V 2410mA
positive tip (inside)

you should be fine. FYI, iPaq power adapters will also work although they put out slightly less volts and amperage (5 and 2000mA).

Thanks!
Are the Ipaq adapters available at my local Fry's Electronics or Best Buy?

Buy any adapter that is between 5 - 5.4vdc and puts out 2 - 2.4A. Even though the part numbers are different, all Axim adapters work interchangeably. I even use it for my Minolta 7i digicam.

I have another question. I want to buy the X30 high. In belgium it costs 416€ and if i order it in the us and sent it to my ant who lives in the us i only pay 256€. This is a big price difference. Now my question is. Can you change the powercord that comes with the ac-adapter and if so what is the input voltage. If it's 230V or more then i'm ordering it today. This is for the original AC adapter from dell

So, yes, all you need is a different power cord or an adapter for the plug.

[edit]You should realize with the wireless version that you will not have access to channels 12 and 13 since these are not allowed by the U.S. FCC for use with WiFi.

I am afraid that you will find that the Dell warranty will not be valid in Europe. If you need this, then you could always post it back to your aunt I suppose.

You presumably will have to pay EU Import Duty and VAT but not $160.

Let us know how you get on.

I looked at the channel my us robotics card uses in my laptop and there it said desired channel 11 so it wouldn't be any problem to make the wireless network work.

I have chatted with a employe of dell us. It is really convieniant that you can select to have a chat session as support. They have told me that i can transfer the warranty to any country that i like with the following form: http://www1.us.dell.com/content/topi...=19&l=en&s=dhs
So now i'm really sure that i will order it in the us :d

Yes, for home use, you should be able to set your wireless network on an appropriate channel. I was mainly indicating that some hotspots in Europe could be set on channel 12 or 13 and you would not have access to them with a PPC sold in the U.S. Some people might find that an important issue so I wanted to make sure you were aware of the possible limitation.
