the reason why I get the cradle for 312 ver
since the cradle can charge extra battery
and the batteries run too fast (charge 2 times each everyday)
then sync cable is not an option
a cradle is a must, not for sync (I can do it over LAN/wifi)

I use it to play audio files over LAN/wifi, that eats battery really bad

I do the same. I also put the Axim in the foldable beyboard (it charges when in use)and Sync with Bluetooth. This gives me the best of both world at work.

There is also the fact that the sync cable used exclusively raises your chances of breaking the guide for the pins and bending them.

All it takes is a few times thinking you have more play in the wire than you thought and moving.

actually, I don't have to use the sync port at all
use the cradle to charge the battery
and sync with bt or LAN
however, some apps require USB connection to install

I am sure it has happened to lots of people, but I only mention it because I was always over nervous about it, and I always felt that even when being careful the weight of the powercord/sync cable together was putting pressure on the connection.

It happened to me. I hooked up the USB sync cable one night (the same way I did since I bought it) and it synced fine. Then when I tried to remove it, the cable would not come out of the port. So I tried for about 10 minutes to gently nudge it off and still could not get it off. I used a little force and sure enough the little plastic piece was broken and about 5 pins were bent. I called up Dell and told them what happened and with no questions asked they did an exchange. I had a new one the next day. Go Dell! That same day I ordered a cradle.

Dont you have to pinch the sides of the USB cable and then pull? I have to do that with my extra sync cable. I plug it in and it locks in, thne i pinch the sides hard and pull easy, the thing slides out perfect.

OK. I do a lot of traveling and I am most likelyt going to get a Axim Bottom of the line model. Possibly the middle model with the wirelesss, not sure yet. But, I have some questions. This may not be in the right topic so if you want you can move it. But anyway here are my questions. I spend a lot of time on the road. Would a cradle or a cable be good for that. I am only 12 years old and love these things cause they are VERY helpful. I have a Palm M500 now and I love it. I just wish I could get a color screen and Windows Mobile. I play games occasionally and I would love to listen to music. So, should I have the cradle or the cable Since about every other weekend during the summer I go out with my family. Also, is there a SD Wi-Fi card? Also, is the Wi-Fi card more expensive then just buying the 312MHZ wireless model and spending the extra fifty bucks. So, question for you guys. Which model would you buy for someone who likes to play games and likes to use Word Processing. I would like to have a Wi-fFi card but you guys tell me what I should buy. I think with a Wi-Fi card I would do alot more, but I don't know if that would really help me a whole bunch if I travel alot, but I think Bluetooth would.

X30 basic + WiFi SD Card = 2x Price of X30 basic
Get the X30 Mid. it is a steal.
Add a cradle if you want to charge a second battery or avoid the afore mentioned problems.

Wait a week, or two, or three - what the heck! Let's go the whole month and then you get an axim!
