Ok w/e...leather doesnt offer much defense against huge textbooks in a bookbag.

What's wrong with "Heavy Metal"?

It will if you get a good one and not some crappy cheap one with open sides.

I suspect I'd have to hit mine dead center with a large mallet in order for that to happen. The Piel Framas are very good quality leather cases with full side protection and a significant amount of padding over the screen (and on the back, too). And it has a snap closure, not magnetic, so it stays closed.

I had a metal case on my X5 andI intended on getting one for the X30 too. They are quite lite, ruggid beyond approach and it doesn't look like a woman's wallet.

Note: That site is from England, so us in the US will have to double the price of everything to quick convert the cost for us. (Don't know whether they would sell to us without tax as all prices except for business sales are already marked up with sales tax [17.5%])

[Edit] Just noticed "aluminium" in the title DOH
If in a post the word "Aluminium" is used, then the post is English, If the word is "Aluminum" then the post is American

Throwing my bookbag into the back of my truck while its underneath of my 3 or four text books would be too far off from hitting it with a mallet. those leather cases tend to look like a womans wallet too

Having the aluminium case is much better than the leather case.
and Aluminium case does NOT make you look geeky. Using a leather case makes you look geeky just like belt clips. They're so ugly. People get some fashion sense....lol
