My ClearTouch Crystal (Boxwave) Impression.
Okay so I got my new screen protectors and installation went as expected.
Unfortunately it went as I expected which in my estimation couldn't possibly be more contrary to what the designers intended.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to imply in any way that the designers messed up. In reality their product was made to be as idiot proof as possible, but as fate would have it I am an over achiever. Even worse, I'm an anal one.
After 3 attempts to install this screen protector straight I finally golf it right. Easy as can be and a perfect fit.
Of course now that I have it nicely in place I see all the lint and specs I got trapped under the protector. This wouldn't be as annoying if this thing wasn't so perfectly clear. The cover is so clear that it appears I have specs trapped in the glass of my Axim. The cover itself is no; even noticeable unless you are looking for it.
As far as responsive . . . I expected to have to press more firmly since during installation I noticed that this cover which is touted as super thin is actually thicker than the cover supplied by Dell fo $12.95 or so.
That wasn't the case, in fact I have to make a small effort to not press as hard as I used to because even the light drag caused by not picking up my stylus causes unnecessary errors. Again, operator error caused by tle habit of pressing hard with my old screen protector.
Even with the lint trapped under it I am much happier with the results of this product. I am already learning not to press so hard and I am happy to say that posting this from my Axim before would have never happened.
I give this product a 10 for first impressions. Only time will tell if it is as scratch resistant and re-usable as claimed. Even if it isn't - if it only lasts 3 months - I still think it would be worth it at $4 or so a month for the improved look and feel of the screen; which for me translates in to greater productivity.
