Does anybody know whether there are Aluminum (Aluminium if your are British ) cases that either hinge at the top or the left.

As a lefty the rhinoskin (and its imitators) is not suitable for me as I will be holding my Axim (when it arrives) in my right hand, so my thumb would be either constantly trying to close the case, or offering no grip on the PDA whatsoever

If there are not any Aluminum cases, how good are some of the leather cases at protecting the screen and from dropping?

I haven't seen any aluminum flip cases. To no one's surprise, I recommend the Piel Frama leather flip case. Go to www.aximcases.com and check out the ones they have there. I chose the PF, despite the cost, because of the padding and coverage, and the high quality.
