Boxwave ClearTouch
I got my boxwave ClearTouch today (not the crystal). I have to give them an A+ on shipping, I ordered it Friday, they shipped Friday and I received it Monday. All the way from Washington to Ohio. (Shipped USPS first class. How did the post office manage to get it here that quick?!)

The only thing is... I'm not terribly impressed with the product. The screen protector itself has some small scratches on it, I can't for the life of me get rid of the air pockets, and the sticky backing is always picking up a flakes of dust which show up real nice. The writing surface is also "gritty". I was thinking about trying out the ClearTouch Crystal, but I'm not sure, it seems like a pain!

The scratches are a manufacture error. Someone else had the same problem and they paid for shipping and replacement. It happens, especially with something so precise, these things are thin and clear, so of course the margin of error is very small.

The question is do you want replacement or exchange, you might be able to request a Crystal instead if they are priced the same. Just ask them. They have GOOD CS.

Most protectors will pick up dust, being able to see them isn't really a flaw, because that means it is clearer. It just means you have to do a better job putting them on. Some people have reported success using scotch tape to remove the particles from the sticky side instead of removing completely and cleaning.

As far as gritty, I can assure you that the crystal is not gritty. However, it also picks up more glare and quite frankly you can't even tell you have a screen protector on. They are that good. You will see EVERY speck of dust, and you will get more glare than with ClearTouch, but man, it feels like the first day when I tried my Axim before putting on a protector.

That is my $2, good luck =)

Hi acf01,

cnjmorris is right. If you would like to try out the Crystal instead let our customer service know and they will do an exchange for you. customerservice@boxwave.com

Some people really like the "gritty" texture of the cleartouch but others like it glossy smooth; crystal has that but there is more glare.

It's up to you but let us know and we'll accommodate you!

I bought the regular one, first, and thought it was "OK". It had a tiny scratch in the corner that didn't really bother me. My initial problem was in getting it on "clean" which seems to be a common enough complaint.

I would tell *anyone* who buys one of these -- if you own a cat, DON'T try to put one of these on in any room where the cat spends any amount of time. I don't care HOW often you clean. I was never so aware of cat hair in my life as when I first tried to afix the Cleartouch properly.

I was successful, but was also curious about the Cleartouch Crystal. I ordered one of those as well. Turned out, I like it better. I'd return the first, but really figured that's just the cost of experimentation. ;-) I can understand why someone would be "used to" the feel of the original, and it probably is better on glare. But the crystal one -- which I put on in a really clean room, while lying down, with a VERY bright light on the "work" I was doing -- is invisible, and I like that.
