eBay Accessories for X30 any good?
There are numerous vendors selling non-OEM accessories for the Dell PDAs on eBay.

Does anybody have any idea if the work just fine or is there a risk involved? I was thinking of getting a USB/charger/car-charger cable and an extended 2000mah battery on eBay. Should save me about $50.00.

May be someone has bought from a reuptable or not so reputable seller and can share some thoughts?

Any input is very much appreciated.

PS: I did search the forums, but didn't find any previous posts about this topic.

The Mugen battery is nice and comes with a 1 year warranty I believe. I can't speak for all the spellers but I do know that one of the regulars here sells batteries there and he sent mine quickly and cheaply. Mef38 or something (I have posted his link severla times today and I am tired of looking it up). =)

I can vouch for the 2000 mah battery as well. It is bigger than I thought (good thing I didn't get a case yet), but guess that's the price you pay for more juice. I now charge my Axim30 half as often. You can't beat the price & Mark was very helpful for a first-time ebay user - me.

You can get a Mugen 2000 and a Piel Frama premium leather (hand crafted from spain, weeee) case specifically designed for extended batteries, and pay only a few dollars more than the Dell 1800 with no case =)

I bought the 3-in-1 charger and it works great. The guy (mobilestore1) ships pretty fast (I got it within a week) and can be trusted. I also bought a 3-in-1 stylus for my old Palm III for my son from the same guy. I definitely recommend checking out what he has and make sure you pay for everything at once in order to save on shipping if you can.

I bought a battery extender from rjackson72 for my X3i. It's basically a power pack that you put 4 AA batteries into and it charges your Axim. I used it occasionally and it seemed to work fine. One day, I left it plugged into my X3i for a few hours and the memory crashed. It forced me to hard reset and my "Built in Storage" folder disappeared. I talked to Dell tech support and they recommend I stop using that. So, if you're planning on buying one of those, be wary. I'm not using it on my X30 high.

How much bigger are the 2000mAh batteries than the standard one? I have Dell's premium leather case and don't want ot have to buy a new case, too.

Thanks again.

A look at Chris's Review and the pictures posted on that page shows that the 2000mAh mugen battery are quite large and most probably wouldn't fit in a case not tailored for them.

Since getting my X30H, I've gotten screen protectors, an aluminum case and a 3-way charger from eBay sales. All are no-name knock-offs and seem to function very well. The case provides a snug fit, but unlike the Rhino has only space for one SD card. Not quite as tough as I imagined, but I've never seen a real Rhino case either. All were purchased for very reasonable prices, but shipping always seems to be a yank. Still cheaper than web-sales, and certainly less than retail.

The 2000mAh battery is easily 1/4" thicker than Dell's 950mAh battery. But it is about the same size as Dell's 1800mAh battery.

As for those looking for a kit that pairs the PF case with the 2000mAh battery, I do not believe that there is one. I've heard very good comments about the PF case and if I didn't already have the Bellagio flip-stlye case, I too would go for the PF case. But the Bellagio fits the 2000mAh battery. So that is helpful.
