Connecting to my GPS unit
I own a Garmin GPS unit and I would like to connect it to my Axim x30. I'll be using this system to collect data in the field with ArcPad. What kind of connector do I get? And where can I buy one?

Thanks,
Anya

I have a Garmin GPS12 and I connect this to my X30H with a GPRAX3 cable set from www.pc-mobile.net - then look up your gps type. This works fine with mapopolis. Don't know about ArcPad though.

Hope this helps.

Garmin setup & cable
Hi Anya

You need the cable Code:PX3GS from http://www.pc-mobile.net/ax3.htm, I have one and works fine. The only thing is that the cable from the Garmin is quite long and gets in your way.

You will also need to configure your Garmin:
Go to the Setup Menu, then Interface tab and select
RTCM In/NMEA Out this way your Garmin will send NMEA readings to ArcPad.

I had worked with ArcPad for a while, feel free to ask any other questions
