What should I buy?
I plan on purchasing something for my Axim now. There are a number of things that I might buy. Which do you think I shoud?

1. SanDisk Secure Digital 512MB ($76.84)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...onics&n=516870

I looked through the user reviews and some people said that it was a bad card ("Corrupt Data" errors, large file transfer problems, etc.), but many others said it was a great deal. I may not need this much storage space though since I will probably not be using my Axim for music.

2. SanDisk Secure Digital 256MB ($29.34)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...nics&n=1092220

The reviews for this one seemed a little better. This card is also most particularly affordable, and it is a good amount of space for me.

3. Dell External Foldable Keyboard ($62.10)
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...age=externa l

I highly prefer using an actual keyboard over typing on an on-screen keyboard or using Microsoft Transcriber. I also dislike the other PDA keyboards that I have seen.

What do you think will be the best for me?

Dont get the first two sd cards you mentioned, there are better deals at ecost.com and newegg.com. Stay away from sandisks... they're really slow and are known to have compatibility issues with axims(was it fixed or am I wrong)... Someone feel free to correct me...

I happen to know someone who uses that same 256MB SD card and he doesn't have any problems with it on his X30 high.

Plus I'd prefer to buy from amazon.com.

I would say get Kingston SD (they are cheap) and get the keyboard! But if you want better compatibility with other handhelds and like the freedom, use the IR keyboard (and if u dun care about battery life), get the Dell BT keyboard. A keyboard is a must if you do a lot of email/msg/note taking with ur pda. Any other input methods are simply too slow

Axim X30 High
Dell Bluetooth Keyboard (aka Executive Keyboard)
Dell Extended Battery (Spare)
Kingston 256MB SD
Kingston 512MB SD
Cheap Belkin Screen Protectors
Nokia 6230 (PDA online EVERYWHERE "well, almost")
Some other softwares...

I would get a 512MB card .. but not the Sandisk. You can get another brand for as good of a deal if you look around.

Most ppl that tell you not to buy Sandisk prolly never had sandisk.
they read reports from way back about its admittedly troubled design, especially problems with the X5 and continue to advice ppl to stay away... from the troubles and slow speed...

I have 256 Sandisk and a 512 sandisk and also a 512 PNY... I don't care what brand... the speed test I did with pocket mechanic is far from scientific or conclusive... (especially since I didn't care to varify that they are of the same cluster size etc... nor did I clear my cards of the data already on it...) and ultimately, don't really matter in normal use of PDA and becasue they all SUCK unless you move on to high speed cards...

Buy whatever at the best price/place you can find. They are now mostly a commodity items... no one care... It is also fun to see ppl recommend the same toshiba card with different brand and champion one over another... heh...
