Howdy!

A friend of mine just recently bought an X30. She was hoping to use it with an external mike and was told by Dell Sales at the time of purchase that this was possible.

She says that it only has a headphone out jack. And when she calls Dell Support, they tell her it's not possible to use an external mike.

Is it possible to use an external mike with the X30?

I know my Palm Tungsten only has one audio jack, but it can be used as both a headphone out or mike in, as needed. Is the X30 similar?

Actually, no. If sales told her it was possible, she was misinformed. Unless a bluetooth mic is availible, and if such a device would work w/ the X30, there is no way to add an external mic. Wish I could offer better news.

I'll let her know it's a no go... Unfortunately, BT doesn't seem to be an option for what she needs. She needs to record telephone interviews (w/ everyone's knowledge and consent) for her thesis research. She was hoping to use the X30 with one of those little telephone line mikes from Radio Shack.
