Pharos & Dell foldable keyboard conflict.

Here's my problem, I have the Pharos GPS on my X30 high and when I installed the software for the foldable keyboard from Dell it must have tied up the drive. So now I can't use the Pharos GPS because the X30 said another devise is using the driver. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how I can fix it?

Yeah I posted the same problem a week or two ago. I had that problem when I got my stuff as well. I spent an hour with tech support and another hour with their lead tech support guy who said he'd call me back with a solution and never did. I returned my GPS

(although I think the problem is the keyboard ... I kinda need the keyboard so I will have to make due with a serial port that is essentially locked out).

You should be able to terminate the program/driver for the keyboard...that'll clear up the file in question.

Sadly it's not that easy. Even when the keyboard driver is deactivated it hogs the port. Nobody at dell knew what was up either ...

This really sucks because I really like both of them. To use the GPS I have to delete the program for the key board and then reinstall it when I want to use it again. There's got to be a way! I've tried changing ports in the Pharos option screen but none seem to recognize the GPS unit. I've tried to do a soft reset while the GPS unit was connected but the Axim locked up until I removed the GPS unit.

I have the same problem, I got the gps as a gift yesterday. Is there any way to save the keyboard driver to the axim without istalling it, then you could un-reinstal as much as you want without having to active sync it. Could we possibly use a driver from another keyboard? I tried the updated driver from dell.com, but it did the same thing. It seems really ridiculous that this happens, esspecially since dell sells both...
Are there any problems with using the keyboard with port devices other than the gps? Maybe we need a hack.
I posted the problem to the dell forum, hoping some dell techs browsed them, but no such luck yet. Im pissed, but I love the gps so much! it works really great.
If alot of people pester dell with emails and phone calls, maybe they will actually do something.

ok, so I emailed tech support, and I got a reply within a few hours. The one suggestion was to do another soft reset(which I tried many times). So I replied back with more information like the exact error message and everything that I have done. When the keyboard is uninstalled, comm ports 1 and 2 work, the rest arent there, or are bluetooth or just dont work anyways. So I believe we need a driver for the keyboard that does not constantly poll 1 and 2, or uses others. I wouldnt mind having to manually enabling the bloody thing when ever I plugged it in. Hopefully someone will do something about it if I complain enough.

I've figured it out!! I loaded the keyboard driver to my storage card. When you load the program it gives you the option of there you want to load it. Load it to your storage card. It will go ahead and put an icon in the programs file. Now just click on the icon to enable when you want to use the keyboard and disable when you want to use the GPS.
