washing the adhesive off clear touch??
So I got my clear touch in (after many recomendations from the board) and got it on after about 10 tries (Thats good, right?? ) The problem is the edge that I was manipulating seems to either have got some dust under it (hoping) or got folded up somehow in the process. In any event the entire bottom edge wont stick down. So the question ... can you wash the bottom edge with a bit of soap the way I've read folks are washing theirs off? Does that not wash off the adhesive?

I wonder about that too. Although, I didn't struggle too much, I still see some "bubbling" on some edges (especially where it was handled).

Rinsing the plastic is easy enough, but drying is another story. What I did is tape the non-stick side with clear tape, and flap it like crazy.

I don't think it would ever go back to the original state. So, if you can't get the first time, it's pretty much a struggle after that.

I don't think the adhesive can wash off, because it is make to be washed.

Heh made to be washed and washing having no effect are often not quite the same. I think 'never goes back to its original state' probably sum's it up nicely. Usually I end up having the first screen protector be practice but at 13 bux a pop I want the first one to work

valdarin,

There should be no problem with washing it with water and mild hand soap. This will revive the adhesive and won't wash it off. But when you wash it, air dry it and have your device close at hand to reapply. Also, when drying, you don't need it to be completely dry before you reapply. Having some water still on the sticky side can help to easily reposition so you don't have to pull the ClearTouch off completely to get it on perfect. The water will evaporate out the sides as you let it settle in. Repeat if necessary.

I've gone through the same thing with multiple washings and reapplying. It hasn't affected the adhesive. Hope this helps.

Regards,
Abe

Hey thanks for an official point of view I am worried that peeling it on and off to get it in place has already got it a little bent out of shape (although once I got the hang of the tape method it wasnt too hard at least ... i HATE getting the standard sticker ones off ... ). I think I'm going to try to wash it this evening after work and see if I can't get a better fit. I think it's strange that one of the sides is bent up the way it is because the plastic seems pretty durable. Perhaps just something under the cover that I can't see. Crossing fingers
