What is with the chintzy X30 Stylus Fit?
I just got my X30H yesterday and love it. I'm amazed that such a little device can be so almost "intimidating" in the power and usefulness it provides. Definitely a step (or 10) up from my Palm VIIx.

One thing that I really don't like is the poor fit of the stylus in the X30 slot. It is literally loose, and rattles around. Is there a quick fix for this? I was thinking a little bit of tape wrapped around the stylus end might be in order, but that is kind of tacky.

Thanks for your feedback.

My first one fit very nicely and was tight...my replacement x30's stylus slot is loose...

Oh wow, this all sounds kind of weird....

You can bend the stylus.. SLIGHTLY, and it will fit better.

That's what I just did, fit is better. A bit of a "bow" to the stylus, but better than the rattle.

Thanks for the tip.

Mine fits OK, straight with no rattle, although I have had to super glue the plastic tip back after 10 days.

Mine also fits fine - mostly because I rarely use it. Personally I think it is akwardly shaped and don't like the feel of it so I use a multi-function pen / pencil / stylus combination for $6.

I do the same. I haven't had a problem with the X30 stylus fit, but it is so small, I prefer a "pen size" stylus when I am using my PDA. Belkin has a nice stainless steel combination pen, stylus, laser pointer, flashlight for about $15 (probably don't need all of the features), but it is neat looking and feels a lot better for writing.

I was going to ask....if there were alternatives to the furnished stylus. This is my first PDA, and I don't like the feel of the skinny stylus. Can you get just a plain pen sized stylus? I would assume that using a regular pen would be a bad idea due to the metal scratching the screen, not to mention the ink.

Oglomott:
You can buy a combination stylus pen at places like Staples, Office Max, or Office Depot. Sometimes the employees don't realize they sell them, so just look in the pen section - read the packages for one that has both functions. I recently bought one made by Avery - it was no more expensive than a throw away pen.
