heh..whoops
I have friday off so thursday night I spent some quality time with a bottle of vodka...seems I ordered the leather case and 2000 mAh battery deal. it came today (seems I also paid $20 for express shipping). anyway it seems the only way I have to charge the battery is to put it in the axim while its on the cradle, since it doesnt exactly fit in the cradle on its own. blah.

pictures, because they make threads worth reading

it is quite a big battery but it does fit in the axim very nicely, it looks like its a different color because it has a protective film on it I need to remove.

the case is really nice too, high quality leather, holds the axim tightly in there and feels good in the hand. my only grip is, the included belt clip isnt the best, as in the actual clip that goes on your pants is just two plastic pieces lying flat against each other...yesterday I bought a belt clip for my phone and its clip is the same style, EXCEPT the clip itself has a 90 degree lip so its like it "bites" into your pants, and it holds really nicely. i might switch them if i feel the need.

just a shot in the dark, but will this battery fit in the "extra battery" charge slot (the slot that would be found on the cradle behind teh inserted axim). Not sure, but if it does fit with no wories, you can remove battery, charge in rear slot (concurrently or seperately from teh AXIM and origional battery)... Let me know if it fits in this slot.. Am curious.

Thx,

Joe

The extended battery does indeed fit in the spare battery chaging slot in the back. Actually , it fits perfectly.

I do it all the time.

The deal was for the Piel Frama leather case for Ext. battery; Plus you get the Mugen 2000 battery; all for $95.00--it is a slight discount from if you bought them separately from aximcases and lion battery

Heres a link to that post: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...ght=Piel+Frama

If the deal is no more then you can do what I did before the deal showed up here.

I purchased the Piel Frama case from PDA Domain - here's the link: http://www.pdadomain.com/pages/12077.html

They offer shipping for 1c which makes the cost $45.00 shipped. (Shipping to NY will incur local TAX of $4.05)

I purchased the battery from Mark Fabian - mef38 for $51.25 (with $1.30 shipping insurance added), from his frequent e-bay postings. Here's a link to an auction finishing in 4 days: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...2530 582&rd=1 - Mention your'e an AximSite member for free shipping

Hope thats helpful.

Darren.

oh yes. getting the bottle out of my bedroom (because it was set uncapped, in front of a fan, and was making the whole place smell like the stuff) was a task onto itself that morning. arms length, moving slowly so i dont smell it, its deep in my freezer now, only to return when someone ELSE wants it

at least i can go wirelessly all day without having to plug into the wall (which everyone agrees, destroys the geekiness)
