Boxwave ClearTouch Crystals
I just ordered me a 3 pack of the crystals. I can't wait for them to come in, my dell protectors are crapping out and need replacing with something of better quality.

I tried to install the protector today, and ended up taking it out. My touch screen wouldn't work, and had to re-align my Axim again to get it right.

I have a question: are the Crystals dust repellent and do they cut down on glare?

Another thing I noticed. I use keuboard gestures, and I'm starting to see "gesture marks" on my ClearTouch. Glad I'm protected Don't think the Crystals offer the same level of glare reduction as the ClearTouch.

Well, I need major glare reduction, UVA/UVB protection, and dust to be repelled. I don't want to shell out $15+ to find out I brought the wrong ClearTouch.

So let me get this straight: the "normal" ClearTouch offers all that I'm looking for but the Crystals don't.

No real glare reduction with the Crystal protectors, from what I'm experiencing with mine. They clean up nicely, and I don't worry about scratching my screen when wiping it off, but there's definitely a lot of glare with the Crystal version. On the plus side, you can hardly tell (I can hardly tell, anyway) that there's a screen protector of any kind installed. I like the super smooth/slippery feel of the Crystal as well.

On a related note, I found that the best thing for cleaning a PDA screen is the small eyeglass-cleaner wipes (synthetic and dry, not the little wet-wipes) that you can get at a good opthy shop or eye center. My wife brought some home for me, and not only do they perfectly clean glasses without chemicals, but they to a wonderful job on a PDA screen.

When I applied the crystal cleartouch on my X30 I found out that that the sheet does not actually cover all of the screen at the bottom (or the top). So while 3 sides are aligned perfectly, the bottom portion of the screen remains uncovered afterwards.

Apparently, other Boxwave protectors do not have this problem, so I hope you have more luck with yours than I had.

Definitely glare reduction with the ClearTouch series . . . The dust repellant features has to do with the semi-matted surface of the protector, the dust is not attracted to the surface, and when you do get some specs, they just brush off with the swipe of a hand.

I recommend them, especially for your specific needs . . .

AIB, they may have fixed this issue, or may have shipped you the wrong screen protector, as my Crystal ClearTouch (arrived a few days ago) fit perfectly. I expected this same gap as you and others had mentioned, but it fit perfectly on my X30 screen.

Axim in Bottle,

Here is a link to the thread that addresses your issue of the fitment of your ClearTouch: ClearTouch Fitment

You'll see that in most cases, it's how you place it on the screen that distinguishes how much space is left on each side of your screen. Having some edge space is helpful in the future if you decide you need to remove the ClearTouch for whatever reason. People have said that it's difficult to lift up a ClearTouch that's fitted right tot he very edge of the bezzle, so having some space is a good thing.

Let me know if this helps! Otherwise, feel free to PM or contact customerservice@boxwave.com with any questions or concerns.

Cheers,
Cho

I need glare reduction and dust repelling big time. My Dell SP are a dust magnet and make viewing my Axim, even indoors at an angle a b!tch to behold because of glare! Argh! Which of Boxwave si the best for dust replelling and glare reduction? HAs anyone used both and can give me a good comparison of both?

Thanks in advance.

I got my Cleartouch Crystals in yesterday and love the feeling of the screen with it on. But all was not well, over night my screen generated a Moire pattern so I reinstalled my screen protector and it went away. Other than the oily blob, these things are very very nice screen protectors and would recommend them to anyone looking to keep ther screen looking as good as the day they bought it.
