X30 connector needed
Hi guys,
I need to get connector to Axim X30, to build a cable. I already tried to get it via Dell, but they say "it is service part, and it cannot be sold separately". Does anyone have any idea where can I get it. We're trying to connect X30 to car security, GPS system to provide navigation functionality. Thanks.

I too am looking for a source for the x3/x3i/x30 connectors without success. I want to experiment with the serial port commications at non-rs232 voltages to communicate with a pic-based system. I will let you know if I find any.

I purchased these cables to talk serial at standard rs-232 voltages but haven't checked them out yet:

Tkanks, that is very nice of you, but the problem is that know it works, and I need connectors (without cable) to construct my own connection cable.

Thanks anyway

Ok..I started this in another thread without thinking...anyhow I think I found the connector...

From what I can find it is a Matsushita NAIS Low Profile connector. The Matsushita Part numer of the one that matches as far as I can see is AXR30541.

AEROMAT is a distrubutor of these connectors. I have talked to Digikey about ordering them, they dont normaly carry them, they are suppsoed to call me back.

Here is a link to the Matsushita page so you all can check it out and see if you think it will work.

You might try contacting Gomadic to see if they have any that they could sell you. I have purchased X5 connectors from them before. I don't see any X3/X30 connectors listed on their site, but the DO make X3/X30 cables so they might be able to sell you the connector(s). Worth a shot at least.

Did you ask if they plan to have it? Maybe if I write to them, they will see that there is interest in these connectors and will consider providing it...

I got this message from Gomadic:
"We will begin carrying the X30 connector plugs this December. Hopefully we'll have them in by the very beginning of the month!"

Seems like we have to wait a bit longer...

rberkey: thank you for your offer, but I need about 300 pcs...

I just got a response back from them the other day saying the same thing! I also may have a couple being sampled to me from Matsushita direct.

Fonfi I tried sending you a message about it but for some reason it bounced. Did you ever find that pin out for the Connector?

Rberkey I sent you a messsage...did you get it?

I don't know why the message was bounced... :/
Here is the address: http://www.aximusers.com/forum/index...3984&hl=pinout
The pinout is for X3i but as far as I know X30 has the same.

My connectors came in today and they are the right ones. So for future reference it is the AXR30541. The company was real nice and actually shipped me 10 of them on sample program when I only requested 2. It fits and the pins are an exact match. Now to make the cable I want...
