$17.32 battery works perfectly.

Paid for a $17.32 950mAh battery from interbatteries.com. Received it a few days ago and it works perfectly. It looks and feels identical to my Dell battery. Here's the link:

I did not purchase one of the 1100mAh batteries because they are slightly thicker and would be difficult to use with my Rhinoskin hard case.

my mugen 1100 fits in my rhinoskin case perfectly, no probs......

As far as fit goes, I only took MEF38's advice:

"There's been quite a discussion on thsi somewhere here, but the skinny is: If you buy the 1100mAh Mugen Power battery, it'll fit but it will be a tight fit. You may even have to adjust the Rhinoskin case a bit."

Later in that the thread mikop says that the fit with a Rhino case with the 1100 mAh was quite snug unless you make a few minor modifications to the case. My Axim fits about as tight as I want it in the Rhino case and I don't want to modify it.

Also, I considered a Mugen battery but couldn't justify paying $39.95 for only 1100 mAh. If I needed more power I could purchase two batteries from Interbattery for $34.62.

I was satisfied with the shipping, I received it 3 days after I placed the order.

P.S. Falln - Did you ever get your battery that was peddled on eBay?

I have been watching ebay for days trying to get a good deal on an X3 battery and have not fund any sellers with prices that low. Do you know the name of the seller with those prices? I am starting to think this is just an urban legend.

Well, I ordered one, but never received it so maybe it IS an "Urban Legend".

Seriously, they were selling on eBay for $9.95 + $7 shipping. Some people, like me, never received it either because they are "out of stock" or they simply were never delivered but there ARE some ppl on the boards that have received their battery and say that it's just like the OEM 950 mAh batteries supplied by Dell except that the voltage is slightly off but doesn't affect the performance of the battery.

Do a search on eBay for "Completed Autions" for "Dell X3/X3i/X30 Batteries X1111" or something like that. The seller's name was "Access_Power" and "Power_198". The people that bought from "Access_Power" seemed to have received their battery. I purchased from "Power_198" and never got my battery.

Luckily, I used PayPal and alerted PayPal to the fact that I never received the merchandise I paid for. I was refunded my money, but I STILL don't have a second backup battery... I think I'll look into buying from Interbatteries because I'm weary of the aformentioned sellers on eBay.

Just make sure to either pay by Credit Card or via PayPal just in case you never receive your battery. You can always get your money back.

NOTE: even though this Seller lists shipping via UPS Ground for $7, they use "bait and switch" on shipping and will use USPS First Calss mail with NO Delivery Confirmation and rapes you for $7.

If that's not a problem, then buy away, but if it is, I'd suggest you go with a more reputable seller that doesn't scam their buyers by purposefully switching shipping and shippers to further line their pockets.
