Dell/Samsonite Executive Case - Long Term
Have any of you used this case for any period of time?
I have it and have to take my Axim out of it everyday to sync.
I'm worried that the plastic "arms" are going to scratch the front of the case on either side of the screen. Is this a valid concern or am I worrying about nothing?

Thanks for any input!

I was going to insert an image into this post, but I don't have a web server to link to. I'll try this.... The case is this one on Dell's site:

The reason I'm worried is that the PDA slides into the case from the top and is wedged into place. Part of that wedging requires that those arms put a little bit of pressure on the case until it pops into place.

Bulldog,

I like the idea of your cases, but I worry about the entire PDA getting scratched. Oh the worries of a perfectionist.

Any other thoughts on this or a reasonably priced ($20-$30), and safe alternative?

Thanks again!

Well from the looks of the case I would guess that if you constantly take it out of the case and put it back in you will have some wearing of the paint. I know that mine, due to cover making, has some wear marks. Now remember I have taken on and off more covers than most will ever do in the course of normal use.

Short answer, Probably won't hurt anything if not abused.

I have this case. The plastic arms that secure the X3 are somewhat rubbery, so I don't see them scratching. I like to keep my electronics looking new, so I've been looking for any damage caused by the case. After a few weeks, I haven't found any yet. My only suggestion would be to keep the plastic arms and the Axim case clean. Any grit will get pushed into the paint regardless of whether the arms scratch or not.

The thing I don't like about this case is the plastic carriage for the Axim that adds a lot of thickness. It's hard to put in your pocket while in this case.
