Older X3 cradle?
Can anyone tell me where to find the older style docking cradle for the X3? I'm talking about the one that has 'DELL' that lights up blue on the front of it. I'm getting my X30 soon, and just don't like the plane jane look of the newer cradles. I've checked eBay and can't seem to find one. Thanks in advance.

If Dell does not sell them then eBay is gong to be your best way to locate one. I don't believe there are any companies making an aftermarket cradle. Even if they did, you could count on them not having the "Dell" logo on them.

I own 3 cradles, 1 that came with my Axim, 2 that came from Ebay.

All three are chrome, and light up with "Dell" when the PDA is in the cradle.

Where did you see a cradle that did NOT do this?

Does the X50 (or X5) fit into the X30/X3 cradle?

I didn't think these were compatible.

Definitely not. I have had all X5, the X3i, the X30H and now the X50v. Only the cradle for the X50v is non metallic and does not light up the word "Dell" when in use.

Ok folks, here's a link to DEll's accessories page for the cradle I'm talking about. it's very similar to the one that lights up blue, but there is clearly no Dell logo on the front. sorry if you have to cut and paste, I'm not too good with HTML in these things.

I checked your link, and that is indeed the "older" chrome cradle that lights up. It's just a bad image. The description verifies that it is the original one:

Quote:
Use the Dell™ Axim™ X3/X3i/X30 USB Cradle in your home or office to keep your handheld in sync with your computer. The Axim X3/X3i/X30 USB Cradle features a stylish translucent metallic finish with a backlit blue Dell™ logo that indicates a docking connection.
