Accessory recommendation needed
I ordered an X30h from Dell Outlet and due to a shipping error, Dell has issued me a $50 credit good for 6 months. Since this will be my first PDA, I am not really sure what accessories are most essential. I am thinking of buying a USB travel synch cable so I can leave the included cradle at home and use the cable to synch at work. Would a spare battery be a good idea as well, or should I get the Dell screen protectors and 3 pk stylus? I already have 256 MB, 512 MB, and 1 GB SD cards.

Don't get the Dell screen protectors!!!
Better alternatives include Brando, WriteShields or Boxwave.

If you find that you are often far from a power source, then an extra battery would be useful. Also, a case would be good to have.

you can buy spare batteries from other places for cheaper such as
http://www.lionbattery.com/pages/1/index.htm
other people should be able to give you more information on extra batteries.

i hear the dell screen protectors are crap. boxwave screen protectors are recomended: http://www.boxwave.com/products/clea...im-x30_259.htm

No dell screen protectors as said...lol. A case would be best i guess, since you have SD cards already, and battery after that...

Unfortunately, Dell doesn't sell the most of the best accessories for your Axim. I would recommend a good Case, as they sell third party cases. Check out BoxWave for screen protectors and yoru Travel Sync/Charge cable. As far as spare batteries, like others have posted, check out the Mugen batteries, much cheaper than the Dell batteries. Congratulations, and welcome to aximsite!!

Whatever you do, DON'T buy those Dell Screen Protectors!

I would suggest you buy an extra battery and a sync cable. Directly after that, I would suggest you go to www.aximcases.com to pick up a solid case. They are having a sale for Aximsite members. So snatch up some goodies. Also, don't forget good screen protectors. Brando is having a sale: $10 for a stellar screen protector with FREE SHIPPING and no tax!

No need to explain, they're just terrible IMO. However, I have heard of a limited number of folks who are happy with them. I tried to apply 3 of them, and then ordered a 3-pack of the BoxWave ClearTouch protectors. I've been happy ever since . . .

Thanks to all who replied. I looked around and agree I should not use Dell for screen protectors or spare battery. I just e-mailed customer support to see if I can get them to apply the credit to an extended warranty. As for screen protectors, I am torn between the Brando and Boxwave.

I am getting excited..my Axim X30H should arrive tomorrow!

I ordered it last Sunday, the 12th but it was from the Dell Outlet. It was showing an estimated ship date of 12/17 but it shipped on 12/14. I believe some who ordered new have experienced shipping delays.
