I'm going with a Boxwave screen protector for my new X30, mostly based on the opinions voiced on these boards.

Is there any real difference in the crystal vs. the regular clear-touch? Same price, just wondered if there was any significant advantage of one over the other.

I've seen comparison photos of the two of them. On the device there is really not much difference.

In terms of sensitivity and overall feel, I didn't notice much of a difference. The main differences are in terms of looks, glare and fingerprints. I did a review comparing the two but cannot locate it as I'm on mobile. Just look for it in the review section.

No, not necessarily. Your screen may be more vulnerable to scratches, etc. but if you are careful with it and do not use sharp instruments on it, there shouldn't be a problem. Keep in mind that Boxwave is not the only company that makes good protectors. Also consider Brando and WriteShields.

It depends how you use it and whether you ever let anyone else use it.


It's totally possible to run your Axim without a screen protector for years and not get it scratched. But for me there is no perceptible loss of clarity (with the Boxwave anyway, varies by brand) so it's a simple case of paying US$12 or accepting the risk of the scratches. I'd rather pa US$12 and know that my screen is that bit safer.
