Battery question
Has anyone compared the same sized/different capacity batteries? How much longer does an 1100 mAh battery last than a 950? Or how much longer does a 2000 mAh battery last than an 1800?

I'm trying to decide if it's worth paying more.

As always, thanks for the help.

Mischa,

Somewhere in this forum there were test reports for our Mugen Power battery. I think that they compared with the Dell original battery.

You may want to perform a search with the words "Mugen" or "1800mAh" or "2000mAh".

To my knowledge there has not been any comparison between the Dell OEM battery, Mugen Power battery and the chinese knockoffs that are selling so inexpensively out there.

When I bought my Axim X30 High, I also made sure to buy a Dell 1800mAh battery with it as I remember my last PPC (iPaq h1910) definitely needed a higher capacity battery! I did test with the original supplied 950mAh and whilst my running time certainly didn't double (I didn't expect it too), it did go from 2hrs 31mins of looping PocketQuake (ie: full load) with brightness on full, to 3hrs 58mins! To me, that's worthwhile. I hear the Mugen batteries are even better than the Dell ones as well

.
Considering the 1100 is 15% larger than the 950 you should expect it to last 15% longer.
.
The 2200 is 22% larger, so expect it to last 22% longer.

It isn't very complicated.

I just recently bought a generic Standard Replacement Battery 950mAh, and it seems like it's running out at a faster rate than the original battery that came from Dell.

I haven't actually tried timing how long it takes each battery to run out. Anybody got a good benchmark idea (rather than just turning it on and letting it sit idle)?

I just got a 2000mah mugen battery for my axim x30h and i'm loving it. The amount of extended usage i get compared to dells regular is worth the extra size and weight of the mugen battery.

Really??? I bought a generic battery from Ebay ($17 shipped) and I can't tell the difference between it and the Dell battery. I've read other posts here as well and others have said the same.

You have to understand the differences in batteries. First of all, Mugen Power does not make a 950mAh or 1800mAh battery. The generic batteries are these sizes. Mugen Power makes an 1100mAh and 2000mAh battery based on the same footprint as the Dell batteries.

So, it is very possible for someone to notice a difference when comparing an 1100mAh battery to a 950mAh or when comparing the 2000mAh battery to the Dell 1800mAh.

Also, not all batteries are created equal. If the generic battery is incredibly less expensive than Dell or even Mugen Power, it is because they are cutting costs somewhere.

I am not saying that the generic batteries are inferior. I leave that decision to the actual users.
