Dell logo on cradle????
When i put my Axim in the cradle, it always lights on the Dell logo (blue).
Now it has started fading out everytime i use it.
Everytime it lights lower and lower.
What should i do?

Be happy. I find that too bright logo very annoying. Perhaps the lamp is dying.

That's an odd one, Capone. Out of curiosity I just took my cradle apart to see what the light was. I thought it might be electroluminescent, kinda like the backlight on digital wristwatches, those can dim little by little with extended heavy usage. But, the light in our cradles is made by 2 micro-mini blue LEDs. LEDs use very little power, and never drop in brightness unless they're losing power (think of your TV remote control getting weaker when the battery is dying -they use infrared LEDs). I doubt the light is part of the main charging circuit, so your axim should be safe from damage, but it's up to you if you want to call Dell for warranty replacement.

I know many chicks at the local tech group who do this very frequently (including me). The idea is to either learn how devices are designed or to understand the construction so modifications can be planned.

I've been disassembling electronics since I was 8 years old. reassembling them successfully since I was 9

I used to ride my bike to the local radio shack and buy up all their returns, then take them home to experiment with or repair. (You'd be surprised how much of the defective stuff was all user error.)

IF you're careful enough it's easy to take something apart, figure it out like star882 said, and then put it back together with no sign that it was ever done (thus retaining your warranty).

It's a lot of fun to know how devices are put together like that.

I have a cheapo calculator I got from where I used to work as a givaway thing. One day it stopped working. I opened it up and found that one of the battery connectors had come loose from the solder on the circuit board. I pulled out my soldering iron and reattached it - didn't even need to add any solder.

I then used a labelmaker to cover the "made in china" sticker. It now reads, "made in china, fixed in USA".

Ohmygod, a chick that refers to other chicks as....chicks! Thank God for women (errr, chicks) who have this good a grip on their femininity. A rare thing, that.
