Case mixing
I would like a high quality case. What is the most durable i.e. drop it and it won't break?

What does the community(you) think of mixing cases? Specifically a boxwave active(flexi)skin and a leather or hard case? would that fit?

I am a clumsy fool and this thing will be falling out of trees and spending time inside a turtle so i need something durable.

Oh and not an otterbox, i think its too big.

I don't know If I want to know what you'll be doing in trees with your Axim, and I'm positive I don't need to kow about the turtle, but most cases I've seen are designed to fit pretty snug, so I doubt you'd find one that will fit over an activeskin. Maybe if you look for something that's model-generic just as an outer cover, but you'd still have to remove the axim to use it.

Sounds as if what you want is an Otterbox. Its a polycarbonate case that is water tight with the ability to use it with the extended or regular battery. You can see one at http://www.otterbox.com/product.cfm?product=108&code=NA . That is the one I got.

Oops! My bad. Sorry about that. The other problem with the hardcases I have seen is that they do not really protect the top of the Axim, since that is where you slide it into the case. Perhaps if Boxwave makes that clear case for the X3i, then it would have protection all the way around.

I wanted the best of all worlds. I would be nice to have the most protection with style and not have the pda be the size of my laptop.

The turtle thing was a simpsons quote Homer's wedding ring ends up inside a turtle.

I bought the Rhino Skin for my Axim thinking my PPC would be indestructible or at least nearly. I also wanted to be able to carry it on my belt everywhere I go(I don't like large clunky things in my pants pockets). One day I was eating out and spilled water on myself. Fortunately I didn't get any on the Axim but it was very close. The thing with the Rhino is that it has all those cut-outs leaving many things (antenna, scroll, ports, etc.) open to dirt, water, bludgeoning, not to mention it hangs low and swings all over. So, I started looking for some sort of nylon or neoprene case to slide it in. At Wallmart I found a small one pouch camera case from Targus for $.94. The Rhino slides in perfectly and is mostly encased. It straps straight on a belt so it sits up a bit higher and doesn't swing. It also offers a bit more protection (prevents the Rhino from getting scratched when bumped into). Anyway, thought someone might be interested.
