Lots of folks here have Lexar 1GB SDs. Pretty much all of them work great....I have one of these, and it writes at 5.5MB/sec in a USB2 reader. Lexar is probably the second largest brand next to Sandisk.

If the card says MADE IN THE USA, and is dark blue, you're actually getting a 32x card packaged as a "normal" card. Take a look at the stats on memory cards in the signature below this message.

Gotta love that! I was quite happy when my 1GB card came and it was one of those.

I bought that particular SD card from Fry's in December(?), and it had the $20 rebate on that one at the time. It works great for me. I have two Lexar 1GB SD cards. I bought the second one a few weeks ago (again at Fry's), and that had the $20 rebate, too. It's the 32X one that someone had mentioned.

Both work great. I use one to store misc files and music files, and the other is used just for movies.

I'm really happy with both of them. No problems whatsoever.

sorry for the delayed response.

I now have 2 Lexar 1GB SD cards with the following (nearly unreadable) part numbers:

SD1GB-100M
1204383
A040507B
MADE IN U.S.A.
Purchased October 2004

and

SD1GB-100M
1204534
A040507B
MADE IN U.S.A.
Purchased January 2005

The cards are identical USA cards, dark blue etc. as Choirguy has described. The only physical difference between them is that the new Lexar has a narrower, deeper groove at the bottom of the front face, making it more similar to Sandisk and Panasonic SD cards in terms of physical form factor. See the attached photo for a better idea. The old Lexar card is in the foreground.

Both can write at 5.5MB/sec (37.5X) in a USB2 reader (no longer have an Axim to test in).

Kudos to Choirguy for the data collection, btw--that list is very well populated now.
