Covertec Case+Extended Batt
Hello,

I have a couple of questions regarding cases for the Axim x3i iwth extended battery.

First of all, has anyone tried the Covertec cases with the extended battery? I wondered if the "bikini" style holding system would stretch enough to allow for the ex batt. I really like this case because it's one of the few that covers/protects the antenna. (I've been worried about other cases where the antenna is exposed. Has anyone had problems with this?)

Second question. I've seen on this site that there are a few people who have squeezed there x3i/x30 with ex batt into the Krusell leather case (not the universal one) but limited additional information was given. Does anyone have any experience with this case/pda combo?

Lastly, and this is painfully basic. Leather or aluminum? I've never owned an aluminum case, is it hard to hold when open and such? Is it well protected with the top and other cutout spots exposed?

Thanks for any input. I really appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Rachel

I have two cases that do not protect the antenna, one of which I use on the trail, and so far it has not been a factor. Here's a thought: if Dell (or any manufacturer) thought the antenna needed protection, why would they make the PDA they way they do? It seems to me that if someone is treating their PDA in such a way that the antenna is at risk, well.........

As for leather vs. aluminum, I use my aluminum case in the great outdoors, and my leather in the great indoors. For me, it's that simple.

I guess that makes sense about the way Dell made the antenna. I just read a review where someone was worried what would happen if they dropped the Axim and it landed on the top (would the antenna survive?). However, I'm relatively care and will hope not to drop it!

I'm still hoping perhaps someone with a Covertec case has tried the extended batt. Any thoughts?

Thanks.
