PDair Aluminum Case

What do you think of this case? Does it compare to the innopocket? Or should I look at the Rinoskin?????????

I've had mine for about a week and it has already saved my X50v after a 5 foot fall from a mantlepiece. I haven't noticed any paint scratching as rob61280 has.

The screw holding the belt clip did come out once, the day after I started using it. Is hasn't happenned again (I screwed it in tighter this time) and I have heard about it happenning with rhino's too.

I still might switch over to a flip top case that I can leave on when I put the Axim into the cradle though.

I think the reason I have experianced paint scratching is that the hinge is at the top of the case on the right hand side, this allows for excess movement at the bottom of the case where the lid shuts, it may just be the pin in the hinge of my case is loose, I will have a look later.

it is a good case except for the fact me and others have had the problem where the side of the case would either slip under, or out from the lid, taking off some of the foam material (name escapes me), and i'm sure the force its putting on the hinge doing that isnt good either, but overall, excellent case

I love my PDair case. I also have the case that fits the extended battery. My hinge is tight, Axim fits nice and snug, and no paint being scratched. I've had it for a month now and would highly recommend it.

I got a great deal from Axim Cases. I ordered the extended case and an extended 1800 mAh battery with the Aximsite discount, and the whole thing came to $45.95...shipping included.

I also modified it so it has 4 sd card holders.

Here are some pictures.

Question

I know I'm bringing up a way old thread, but why start a new one if it's already there? What do you think of me getting this hard aluminum case off of Ebay? The item # is 5828921565, and it is being sold by a power seller (don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing ) Anyway, It looks exactly like the Proporta aluminum case and the PDair case, too. I asked them if it is made by Proporta (I so hope it is ) It seems to be a good price (especially with a coupon :approve: ) Give me your feedback, and if you really want to help a rookie, check it out and give me some advice! Thanks so much

Although the auction ended already...
i think part of the reason why you dont have any feedback is coz this is a x3* forum and yours is a x5* item
but the price looks pretty good.

oh, bondr006 your mod looks amazing can you tell me how to do it?

Bond, can you let us know where you got the materials to add the 4 sd card holders ? My PDAir case works fine except for the aforementioned screw-in clip coming out constantly, sometimes causing the unit to fall off my belt. Is there some kind of cloth belt-loop substitute for the screw on clip that will work more reliably ?
